π Today's Word:
Nehemiah 9:31 But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
Nehemiah 9:31 But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
No one who has experienced God's mercy and forgiveness would deny that God is merciful and gracious to us in unmeasurable abundance. That being true, life is still often filled with shattered dreams, unrealized expectations, bitter disappointments, and broken relationships. It is the wise person who can say, in the midst of struggle, that God's plan for them, bitter as it may seem, is best. We don't usually understand trials when they come, but later when the trial is over, if we trusted God through it, we understand more about why we had to go through it. We become stronger and more mature in our Christian walk. God's goal for us is to be more Christ like each day, but how will that happen if we are not tested. I sometimes want to say, "Lord, be gentle, I'm not as strong as you think." That's when I see Him smile and say, "Lean on Me, I got this with you."
π Today's Prayer:
Father, thank you for being there with me during times of testing. Amen
