We are to place all our cares and fears into the hands of the Lord. Easier said than done, but nonetheless, this is how we are to think, believe, and live. It is one the essential reason that prayer is so vital to sustaining hope in the Christian life. We place all our cares, concerns and apprehensions on the Lord, when we go to Him in prayer. When the enemy is strong, stronger must be our prayers. Faith stands upon Jesus Christ, and there is no firmer ground upon which to build our hope and answer all the alarms of life, than by seeking Christ in prayer. The Psalmist is not afraid, because he has placed everything into the caring, authoritative, and ever-prevailing hands of God. If God is for us, who can be against us? The Lord has promised that He will sustain us. "For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you,'" Isaiah 41:13. We are much more prone to worry than trust, but our Psalmist here gives us the correct example and perspective in all our doubts and uncertainties. He says, "In God I have put my trust." How much smoother would the paths of our lives be if we followed his wise example. "Trust in the Lord with all you heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight," Proverbs 3:5, 6
