π Today's Word:
Psalm 128:1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.
Psalm 128:1 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.
What does it mean to fear the Lord and walk in obedience? Well, the older generation can visualize this verse. When we were young, we had a fear of our parents. Not saying we did not love them, but when they said don't do something we could visualize the whipping that was coming if we did it. We tried to walk in obedience to our parents, in other words do what they said, to keep discipline at a distance. God wants the same type of response from us. God will discipline us at times for our wrong doings, but just like parents He loves it when we walk in obedience. God would rather bless us, than discipline us. But just like that hard headed kid that wouldn't listen, some Christians have no fear of God. Hebrews 12:11 says, No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. So, let me give that no fearing Christian something to think about. Matthew 10:28, Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Kind a gives being obedient to God a different look. So, do you want to be the rebel or the obedient child of God?
